Beef & Broccolini:
- 2 lbs. beef tenderloin strips
- 2 tbsp sesame oil, divided
- 1 small onion, halved & thinly sliced
- 2 bunches of broccolini, trimmed & chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (garnish)
- 2 green onions, chopped (garnish)
Stir Fry Sauce:
- 3/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- In a small bowl combine the stir fry sauce ingredients and whisk well. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the skillet and add the beef. Stir until the beef is almost cooked through and transfer to a plate. Set aside.
- Add the remaining sesame oil to the skillet and add the broccolini & onion. Cook until the broccolini is tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Next, add the stir fry sauce to the skillet along with the beef. Fold together until everything is coated through and the sauce begins to thicken, for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Lastly stir in the sliced green onion and top with sesame seeds. Serve over rice or noodles.
