Ingredients
- 6 Hot Italian sausage links
- 3 bell peppers- assorted colors, julienned
- 1 sweet onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon steak salt plus more to taste
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 package of Fra'mani Toscano Salami or Italian dry Salami
- 1 package Apple Smoked Fontina cheese, grated
- Fresh Basil
- Preheat grill to medium high heat and set grill up for 2 zone cooking. Meanwhile, melt butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add peppers & onions and season with Italian seasoning and a steak salt. Sauté until softened about 10 minutes & add garlic. Cook for an additional minute. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Add olive oil to the hot pan, add tomatoes and season with steak salt. Stir after two minutes and cook an additional 2 minutes or until blistered. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Using two skewers, skewer the sausage on both ends making sure they are compacted together.
- Grill sausage about 10 minutes a side and move to indirect side of grill.
- In this order top with salami, peppers, and cheese. Close grill and allow cheese to melt.
- Remove from grill when internal temp reaches 165 degrees. Top with tomatoes & basil, slice and serve.
